Jillian Out, M.A.

Jillian Out is a Registered Psychology Associate in Maryland working under the supervision of licensed psychologists, Dr. Shilpa Saroop (adolescent and adult therapy) and Dr. Sarah Mealy (assessment and child therapy). Jillian earned her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She is currently an advanced doctoral trainee pursuing her Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) at Loyola University, Maryland. Her education and training have prepared her to work with individuals across the lifespan. Jillian has experience providing neuropsychological assessment, group therapy, and individual therapy. She has worked in outpatient settings in community mental health, academic medicine, and private practice. She has experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, substance use disorders, brain injuries, multiple sclerosis, depression, anxiety, and other presenting concerns. At J.B. Mealy, Jillian’s therapy work is focused on helping individuals to navigate life transitions or relationship issues that may be bringing them stress, anxiety, and/or depression.

Jillian’s approach to therapy focuses on building a safe and trusting relationship using kindness, respect, and authenticity. She strives to provide a collaborative, empathetic, and trusting environment for patients to explore their thoughts and feelings freely and obtain the most benefit from their time in therapy. Jillian utilizes the following treatment approaches: humanistic/person-centered, emotion-focused, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and family systems. Jillian is currently accepting new patients for individual therapy (ages 16 and up) and meeting via HIPAA compliant video conferencing.
